Leo will learn its skills in a safe simulation environment by rapidly analysing thousands of construction videos, instructions, demonstrations and sensory data. Training techniques include:

Reinforcement Learning
Training uses digital twins that accurately simulate real scenarios, providing a risk-free environment for Leo to learn and improve. This eliminates the risk of physical damage to its human co-workers and itself.
Once the skills are adequately refined in the digital world, the modules can be uploaded onto Leo's physical form and deployed, on supervised / under control partners construction sites, for performance enhancement before they are available to the industry.

To build Leo's Skills Database, construction videos, instructions, and demonstrations are captured on live construction sites by our partnering organisations, operatives, and Moulton College tutors utilising head-mounted video cameras. Synergistic Collaboration of Operatives and Leo
Personalised Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR) training on a variety of complex construction environments will ensure operatives can work with Leo as part of their Team whilst minimising risks and maximising efficiency.
IVR Training Modules
Collaborative Assembly: Hands on training on their relevant assembly tasks alongside Leo, with holographic visualisation of parts/tools, ensuring optimal learning.
Joint Inspection: Simulation of construction site inspections with Leo, using spacial audio for problem location, virtual tactile feedback, and dynamic defect generation based on real world data of common defects.
Hazardous Environments: Collaborate with Leo to perform tasks safely, learning to delegate risky tasks to Leo and effectively supervise work.
Assisted Manipulation: Operative learns to use a heavy tool assisted by Leo.
Collaborative Safety: Practice risky scenarios where human-Leo coordination is vital (through dynamic generation of unexpected events with AI based on real-world data).
